This Privacy Policy explains how Parsimonia ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our Android application. It applies to all users worldwide, regardless of country of residence.
By installing or using the App you agree to the practices described in this document. If you disagree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the App.
Parsimonia is a fully local, offline-first application. We do not collect, transmit, or store on our servers any of the following:
All budgeting data you enter remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us.
The App integrates two third-party SDKs for analytics and stability monitoring. These services may collect limited, anonymised technical data as described below.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns — such as which screens are most visited and how often features are used. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. Google may collect device identifiers, app interaction events, and general demographic data at an aggregated level.
You may opt out of analytics data collection via your device's advertising settings or by disabling analytics in the App settings (if available).
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and report app crashes, and Firebase Performance Monitoring to measure app start-up time and network latency. These reports contain stack traces, device model, OS version, and anonymised device identifiers. They contain no personal or financial data from within the App.
Firebase privacy policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Where applicable (e.g. users in the European Economic Area), our legal basis for the limited analytics and crash data processed by third-party SDKs is legitimate interest — specifically, improving app stability and understanding how the App is used at an aggregate level.
No data processing requires you to provide personal information, and no processing is based on consent to share personal data (because no personal data is collected).
Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights regarding data held about you by our third-party partners:
Because we do not hold personal data ourselves, most requests should be directed to Google/Firebase via their respective privacy tools. You may also contact us using the details in Section 8 and we will assist you.
Your budgeting data is stored locally on your device only. It is retained until you uninstall the App or manually delete it from within the App. We have no access to this data and therefore cannot retrieve or delete it on your behalf.
Crash and analytics data retained by Firebase is subject to Google's own retention policies, which you can review at the links provided in Section 3.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add new features or third-party integrations. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this document and, where required by law, notify you within the App.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy, please reach out to us. We will respond within 30 days.
